According to media reports, Kanae Yagi left her company, ALSOC, last December and will become a coach at her alma mater, Kanazawa Gakuin University, in April this spring.

Kanae Yagi is from Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and has been doing gymnastics since childhood. 2008, she joined the weightlifting club at Suma Tomogaoka High School in Hyogo Prefecture, where the coach saw her talent and she switched to weightlifting. He was selected to represent Japan during his high school years.

After entering Kanazawa Gakuin University, he represented Japan at the 2012 London Olympics and joined ALSOK in 2015 after graduating from the university. At the Olympics, he placed 12th in London, 6th in Rio de Janeiro, and 11th in Tokyo.
