The Korinbo Tree Fantasy, a wintertime tradition in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, began lighting up on November 1.
Illumination lighting period
Yukako Tomi, an anchor and reporter for MRO Hokuriku Broadcasting, FM Ishikawa, and Kanazawa Cable, posted a two-shot on Twitter alongside Miss Hyakumangoku, Mahiro Kane, who attended the lighting ceremony.
According to Yukako Tomi, the illumination will be on from 5:00 p.m. to 24:00 p.m. daily until Sunday, February 19 (hours may be extended on Christmas and New Year’s Eve).
What is Korinbo Tree Fantasy?
The Korinbo Tree Fantasy started in 1986 to enliven the downtown area of Kanazawa City during the winter Christmas and New Year holidays.
The event decorates the zelkova trees along the National Route 157 meridian with illuminations, and currently the area from the Korinbo intersection to the Korinbo La Moda area is lit up with about 110,000 LDE bulbs.
Many photos of last year’s illumination have been uploaded on the Internet, and this year’s night view will be increasing in the future.
