The 『Vermeer: Kingdom of Light』 exhibition, an event to exhibit 「re-created works」 of the 17th century Dutch painter 「Johannes Vermeer」, beautifully re-created using digital printing technology, opened on August 3 at the department store Korinbo Daiwa in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

Vermeer’s most famous works are
Johannes Vermeer was born in Delft, a city in the Federal Republic of the Netherlands, the prototype of the present Kingdom of the Netherlands. 37 of his paintings from October 1632 to December 1675 are said to be extant.
While his best-known works include 「Diana and the Nymphs」 (c. 1653-1654) and 「The Woman Who Pours Milk」 (c. 1660), it is believed that he painted 「Girl with a Pearl Earring」 around 1665.
The 『Vermeer: Kingdom of Light』 exhibition features 37 works, including 「Girl with a Pearl Earring」, re-created in pursuit of the colors of approximately 360 years ago.
