A giant blue foot has appeared in Honda Park. What on earth has happened to this area of history and culture, where the former Honda Family Residence row-house gate, a registered national tangible cultural property, is located, and where D.T. Suzuki Museum, Shofukaku Garden, and Nakamura Memorial Museum of Art are adjacent to the park?
The feet are actually Hiroko Kubo’s 「Muddy Feet」, one of the popular works at the private contemporary art museum 「KAMU kanazawa」. The work has been on display since April 1 as the first installment of 「TOWN HACKER」, a new project of 「KAMU kanazawa」, which views the entire city as an art museum, in partnership with the city of Kanazawa.

「KAMU kanazawa」 exhibits internationally recognized contemporary art, such as Leandro Erlich’s 「INFINITE STAIRCASE」, which looks like a spiral staircase turned sideways, and 「Lip Bar」, a spatial work with seamlessly pasted photographs of lips.
Since the 「Muddy Feet」 exhibit is the first of its kind, new artworks may be popping up in the city in the future. Visitors can expect to encounter new works of art while walking around town!
