Daisuke Yokoyama looks at the performance venue and reminisces about the songstress he was paired with in 『Okaasan to issho』 『Kanazawa Topics】

Daisuke Yokoyama, a.k.a. 「Daisuke Onii-san」, who served as the 11th generation of song sisters on NHK’s 『Okaasan to Issho』, visited Honda no Mori Hall in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, for the first time in many years and recalled the graduation performance of the song sisters who had worked together for eight years.

「Takumi Onee-san」, who regrettably graduated

Takumi Mitani, a.k.a. 「Takumi Onee-san」, the 20th generation songstress, graduated from the position in March 2016.

At the press conference announcing her graduation, she expressed her feelings, saying, 「I have experienced a lot and met a lot of children during my eight years, and I have decided to pass the baton to the next sister because I feel that I have done all I can do」.

In June of the same year, she published a memorial book, 『Okaa-san to issho: Takumi Onee-san, Thank You, Goodbye. 』and 『NHK 「Okaasan to issyo」 Memorial Album – Kimi to issho ni』 , which contains 34 songs sung with Daisuke Yokoyama, were released in June of the same year, showing how popular the show was.

Daisuke Yokoyama was deeply moved by the Kanazawa performance of 『DADDY』

The last performance of “Takumi Onee-san” was the Kanazawa concert of 『Okaasan to issyo Family Concert』 broadcast in April 2016.

Daisuke Yokoyama is currently playing the role of Daddy in the musical 『DADDY』, and the venue for the Kanazawa performance of 『DADDY』 on April 19 was the same Honda no Mori Hall where “Takumi Onee-san” graduation performance took place.

In his blog, Daisuke fondly remembers 「This hall is the place where Takumi-san graduated from the show after 8 years of working together with her in 「Okaasan to issho」. Daisuke reminisced, 「I remember rehearsing here before the show」, and 「Ah, the seniors came and we took pictures here」.

On Twitter, he said, 「Just the fact that Daisuke cherishes his memories with Takumi makes me want to cry. I’m really happy to hear Takumi’s name from him」, and 「I asked Alexa to play Daisuke’s boyoyon march, and she played the boyoyo-yon march with Takumi and I’m about to cry」.
