「Oktoberfest」, one of the world’s largest beer festivals, has been held in Munich, the capital of the German state of Bavaria, since 1810. It is also held in various places in Japan, and this year, 『Kanazawa Oktoberfest』 will be held in Ishikawa Prefecture for the first time in four years and is expected to be lively.
How to enjoy 『Kanazawa Oktoberfest』
At Oktoberfest, a glass deposit (1,000 yen) is paid at the beginning of the festival to reduce the use of disposable plastic and paper cups, and the same glass is used to enjoy a variety of beers. The deposit is refunded at the end when the glass is returned. If you take the glass home as a souvenir, the deposit is not refunded.
Let’s chorus Prost!
In German, Prost means toast. To toast with beer is 「Prost beer」. At Oktoberfest, 『Ein Prosit』 is sometimes performed on stage. If you are lucky, you may be able to sing along with the chorus at the 『Kanazawa Oktoberfest』.
