Miku Yonezawa, one of Japan’s leading saxophone players, will perform live at Kinjoruro, a long-established kaiseki ryokan in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. This is already the most precious combination since Tsuyoshi Domoto performed at Todaiji Temple (in my opinion).

Kanazawa Jazz Street’s chic project
『Kanazawa Jazz Street 2023』 will be held from September 15 to 18. Miku Yonezawa will perform at the special event 「An Evening of Jazz at Kinjohro」 on the first day of the event, the 15th.
The venue for this event was provided by Kinjohro, a long-established ryotei (Japanese-style restaurant) that has been in business for more than 130 years. It is exciting to think of the Japanese architecture of the inn and its atmospheric garden, sometimes filled with lighthearted, sometimes quiet jazz music.
Who are Miku Yonezawa & Etsushi Ogawa?
Performing this time will be 「Miku Yonezawa & Etsushi Ogawa with Mizoguchi Hisashi Quartet」. Guitarist Etsushi Ogawa has produced and arranged all of Miku Yonezawa’s albums. As a guitarist, he has participated in the works of many artists, including Seiko Matsuda, Marcia, and Hiroko Moriguchi.
Miku Yonezawa’s eighth solo album 『delight』 (released in April 2023) also features Etsushi Ogawa. Just by listening to the teaser video for 『delight』, I can imagine the moment when this sound will seep into Kinjohro.
