The Hokkoku Shimbun is so chic in what it does! The 『Hokkoku Shimbun 130th Anniversary Countdown Concert 2022-2023』 will be held at Ishikawa Kenritsu Ongakudo (Music Hall).

Nanase Aikawa, who loves visiting shrines, just visited Kanazawa in April and July, and Masahiko Kondo, aka “Match,” is looking forward to gourmet food and drinks in Kanazawa after a long absence.

Nanase Aikawa and Kanazawa’s relationship

Nanase Aikawa is addicted to power spots and began visiting shrines in her 20s. Born in Osaka, she has had a string of hits, including her debut song 『Yumemiru shojo ja irarenai』 (1995). In 2020, the 25th anniversary of her debut, she was accepted into the Faculty of Shinto Culture at Kokugakuin University in Tokyo and became an active university student at the age of 45.

Although she does not seem to have much connection with Kanazawa, she actually visited Kanazawa in August 2015 for a 『24-Hour TV』 event, and in November of that year, she went on a 「rocking girls’ school trip」 to Kanazawa with Keiko Terada and Ayumi Nakamura on location for a TV show, and in April 2017, she toured Kanazawa Shrine, Yakushiji Temple and Kenrokuen Garden, and in July she visited Kamo Shrine and other places in Kanazawa in July.

Since then, she has visited Kanazawa often, most recently in April this year, when she and her daughter enjoyed Ozaki Shrine, the Toshogu of Kanazawa, Oyama Shrine with its famous stained glass shrine gate, Kanazawa Shrine, Kenrokuen Garden, and Ishiura Shrine, which is considered the birthplace of the word Kanazawa. In addition, in July, they had a handmade experience of making rakugan (wild geese) at Morihachi, an official confectioner of the Kaga Clan.

Singer Kaya, a native of Yamanashi Prefecture, has studied piano since the age of five and has an absolute sense of pitch. her first album, 『Bouquet』 (released on December 7), has attracted attention because it includes a song written by Janis Ian.

On her 「Kaya Official YouTube Channel」, she covers a number of famous songs, which showcase her singing ability and sensitive sense. Her cover of Hiroko Yakushimaru’s 『Woman ‘W’ Tragedy”』, which Yumi Matsutoya herself admits is a masterpiece, is a unique interpretation that resonates with the viewer.

Among the lineup of renowned singers, violinist Ririko Takagi is one to watch.
