Actor and dancer Mirai Moriyama will hold a talk event with museum director Yuko Hasegawa at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa on Sunday, December 25. Mirai Moriyama, who began to make his presence felt in dramas such as 『Water Boys』 (2003), became famous with the blockbuster hit 『Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World』 (2004), in which he starred.
In 『Underdog』 (2020), he played a boxer with Takumi Kitamura and Ryo Katsuji. In the live-action drama 『Kishibe Rohan ha ugokanai』 (NHK), he charmed audiences with his dance performance in 「Kushagara」, and in 2021, his unique performance at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics became a hot topic.

According to the information of the Director’s Talk 『Yuko Hasegawa: Room for Future Preparation vol.2 「Future Preparation for Performance」』 by the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa Friends Association, The program is an attempt to 「grasp the ‘present’ from different perspectives, to find guidelines and hopes for the future, and to start preparing for the future together with everyone」 by inviting guests from various genres.
He will talk to Mirai Moriyama about 「the body transforming into something other than human, the uploading body as a metaphor for molting, and the sculptural dance created by the intertwining of multiple bodies」, as well as his vision for a new performance inspired by the museum’s current exhibition 「Yves Klein’s Imagination Beyond Time: Uncertainty and the Immaterial」 (scheduled to open in February 2023), and also discuss the future of performance with Director Hasegawa.
