The 「Kanazawa Film Festival」, which began in 2011 in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, selected 『Why Doesn’t My Cool Brother Make a Mud Mountain in the Park』?
『Alien Painter』, which was shot by director Hoya with the 「promising new director scholarship」 rights, premiered at the 「Tatemachi Rooftop Film Festival 2021」 organized by the Kanazawa Tatemachi shopping district, and the live performance was performed by Ryofu Karma, who also served as a cast member.
『Alien Painter』 is a science fiction suspense film about the manga 「Empty Dharma」 drawn by junior high school students. The characters in the manga include “Empty Dharma”, who rules the city with his freestyle preaching, and American spy George Watanabe.
The film is so popular overseas that it was screened at the 「BUT film festival 2022」 in the Netherlands on September 4 following Korea, and it hit the Mini-Theatre Cinemonde from September 24 (Sat.) while being screened in various locations in Japan as well.
What kind of person is Ryohu Karma?
Although AC Japan’s 『Tolerance Rap』 alone only gives us a fleeting glimpse of Ryohu Karma’s voice, his battle with popular rapper R-Designation of Creepy Nuts on the freestyle rap competition 『Freestyle Dungeon』 (TV Asahi) in 2017 is so famous that it is considered legendary.
