The 「Kanazawa Marathon 2022」 will be held on October 30. Entry for runners has started.
The 「Kanazawa Marathon 2022」 is a 42.195-kilometer circuit course that will allow runners to fully enjoy the charms of Kanazawa, including the historic cityscape of Kenrokuen Garden, the Ishikawa Gate of Kanazawa Castle, and town houses, as well as the Hakusan mountain range. The race will start at 8:35 a.m. (second wave at 8:45 a.m.) on Hirosaka Street (in front of the Shininoki Guest House). The finish line is at Ishikawa Seibu Ryokuchi Koen Athletic Field.
The 「Tbemasshi Station」, a food service spot for runners, offers Ishikawa specialties every year.
General Entry Method
General entries will be accepted through「RUNNET」by May 25. The entry fee is 15,000 yen, reduced by 1,000 yen from the previous year, and the number of participants has been increased by 2,000 from the previous year to 12,000 (if the number of participants exceeds the limit, a lottery will be held to select the winners).
Entry for the elite runner quota (men: within 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 00 seconds; women: within 3 hours, 00 minutes, and 00 seconds; registered with the JAAF), which allows runners to start in the front blocks of the first wave, has begun and will close on Friday, April 22. Various other ways to participate
Entry for the「Hometown Tax Payment Runner Quota (for the first 700 runners living outside the prefecture)」and「Charity Runner Quota (for the first 300 runners living in the prefecture)」, in which those who donate 50,000 yen or more to Ishikawa Prefecture will receive the right to participate, has also started (entry fee of 15,000 yen not included). The deadline for donation is Monday, July 18 (national holiday), and the deadline for entry is Sunday, July 24 (national holiday).
The「Kanazawa Marathon Tour with Entry」, a 3-day/2-night travel plan to enjoy Kanazawa’s history, culture, gourmet food and sightseeing, is available through Nippon Travel Agency (stay at a hotel in Kanazawa City).
