Actually, we hold them six times a year.
The name of the event is 「Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Four Seasons Story」, so you would think it would be held four times a year in spring, summer, fall, and winter… but in fact it is held six times a year.
cherry blossom viewing season | End of March – beginning of April Held for 7 days to coincide with the blooming of Someiyoshino cherry trees. From sunset to 21:30. |
spring | End of April – beginning of May Held in conjunction with GW. The lights look great against the fresh greenery. |
early summer | Early June Held in conjunction with the “Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival” held on the first Saturday of the month. |
summer | Late July to mid-August Lights up well with fountains, waterfalls, and other watery scenery. |
autumn | Early to late November The contrast between the beautiful autumn leaves and the Karasaki pine trees hung with snow is spectacular. |
winter | End of January – Mid-February The quintessential lighting up of Kenrokuen Garden. The lighting up in the winter scenery is fantastic. |
Saturday is an added treat
On Saturdays during the festival, there will be concerts and soup offerings, so you might feel like you’re getting something out of it.

◆「Kaga lotus root soup」 served
- Dates: February 5 (Sat), February 12 (Sat), February 19 (Sat)
- Time: 5:30 p.m. ~
- Location: Next to Hasuike-mon Gate, Kenrokuen Garden
- Content: Original soup served at Kenrokuen under the supervision of the Vegetable Sommelier Community
- Number of meals: limited to 200 for each day
