Shingo Katori is currently holding his solo exhibition \u300eWHO AM I -SHINGO KATORI ART JAPAN TOUR-\u300f at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture from September 16 (Sat) to October 15 (Sun).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the September 20 broadcast of the special program \u300eZekkocho W – Shingo Katori Ishikawa Art Trip\u300f (MRO Hokuriku Broadcasting), Shingo Katori visited the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, where his solo exhibition was held, and also visited young artists Yoshinobu Omori and Yohi Muta’s studio, where he was seen in rare scenes of roaring at their talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shingo Katori’s long-sought solo exhibition at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shingo Katori strolled around the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa before his solo exhibition opened on location for \u300eZekkocho W\u300f. He had been on location in Kanazawa several times before for various programs, but his desire to visit the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art had never come true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, not only exhibits artworks in its facilities like other museums, but also allows visitors to enjoy the museum as a work of art, including its exterior and surrounding greenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, he was very happy to be able to hold a solo exhibition at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, rather than filming on location, which was his long-cherished dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On location, we visited the \u300cswimming pool\u300d and noticed that the floor was sloped, and wondered why. He wondered why the floor was sloped and showed his artist’s sensibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hit it off with an artist from Ishikawa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yoshinobu Omori, known as a one-stroke painter, is a young artist with a studio in Kanazawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Shingo Katori admired Omori’s single stroke, Omori referred to the \u300cfive-fingered hand\u300d that Katori drew at the beginning when he painted his work on canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yohka Muta is from Tokyo and graduated from the Ishikawa Kutaniyaki Technical Training Institute. He is based in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, where he makes ceramics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, we visited his studio and residence in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture. Shingo Katori forgot to talk for a while as he gazed at the many works on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I asked seriously, \u300cCan I buy these?\u300d But to my surprise, they were all sold out, and if I ordered them now, I would have to wait about 10 years for the artwork to be ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katori was busy on location and had to paint a platter. He was complaining, \u300cThey told me to do it in about 30 minutes\u300d, but he is a former idol (or is he still one?). It was amazing that she was able to get the job done on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
